JEE Advanced marks vs rank 2026 and 2025
Every 10-mark band out of 360, with the ranks candidates in that band got. From the official reports of IIT Roorkee (2026) and IIT Kanpur (2025).
Based on past official results, not a promise. Ranks come from the IITs’ official result reports. Your rank next year depends on next year’s paper. Data last checked 11 October 2026. See the sources at the end of this page.

Marks needed for a JEE Advanced rank, 2023 to 2026
The total marks of the candidate at each Common Rank List (CRL) rank, from each year's official Joint Implementation Committee report. All years are out of 360. A range means the report lists the ranks around it, not that rank itself. The paper is different every year, so the same rank needs different marks.

Where these numbers come from
After every exam, the organising IIT publishes a Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) report. It lists the total marks of the candidate at rank 1, 101, 201 and so on, for the CRL and for each category list. It also lists the top 25 and the last rank in each list.
When two candidates have the same total, the information brochure breaks the tie: first by higher positive marks, then by higher Mathematics marks, then by higher Physics marks. Only if they are still equal do they share a rank. So everyone with your score ranks after the last listed candidate with more marks, and before the first listed candidate with fewer marks. That gives the range. We do not guess beyond that.
To be in a rank list you need the minimum total AND the minimum marks in each subject. This tool knows only your total, so it checks the total and tells you the subject minimum to check yourself.
For 2026 we also checked 11 marks vs rank tables on coaching and news websites: 9 were predictions made before the results, 2 were estimates that do not match the report. We use the official report directly.
For 2025 we also checked 11 marks vs rank tables on coaching and news websites: 6 copied the official report, 4 were predictions made before the results, 1 was an estimate that does not match the report. We use the official report directly.
To write JEE Advanced you first need the JEE Main cutoff percentile.
Frequently asked questions
What rank is needed for an IIT, and how many marks is that in 2026?

How did marks vs rank change from 2025 to 2026?
Near rank 10,000 you needed more marks in 2026 than in 2025. Rank 1,000 needed 208–212 marks in 2025 and 209–214 in 2026. Rank 10,000 needed 120 in 2025 and 131 in 2026.
What rank do I get with 100 marks in JEE Advanced?
In 2026, candidates with 100 marks out of 360 got Common Rank List (CRL) ranks 23,602–24,300. In 2025, the same score got ranks 16,502–17,100. These are real ranks from the IIT report, not a forecast for next year.
What is the JEE Advanced 2026 cutoff?
To get a rank in the Common Rank List in 2026 you needed at least 92 marks out of 360 in total and at least 8 in each subject. OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS needed 82 in total, and SC, ST and PwD needed 46. In 2025 the CRL needed 74.
What is the highest score in JEE Advanced?
The top score was 330 out of 360 in 2026 and 332 out of 360 in 2025.
How many students wrote JEE Advanced 2026?
1,79,694 candidates wrote both papers and 56,880 qualified (including the preparatory course list), as per the result press release by IIT Roorkee. In 2025, 1,80,422 wrote both papers and 54,378 qualified.
Is this official data?
The ranks come from the official Joint Implementation Committee report of each year, which lists the marks at every 100th rank. We only fill in the ranks between two listed ranks, so the answer is a range. It tells you what a score got in a past year. Next year the paper will be different, so your rank can be different.
