MHT-CET marks vs percentile vs merit number

Each row shows the lowest and highest percentile that 13 published estimate tables give for that score. The merit number range uses the official 2025 and 2026 merit lists. A wide range means the publishers disagree.

Marks needed for a percentile

The lower number is what the most generous estimate asks for. The higher number is what the strictest estimate asks for.

How this estimate works

The State CET Cell does not publish raw marks or a marks-to-percentile table. So we collected the tables that 8 articles from education websites published for 2025 and 2026. All of them call themselves estimates. Tables that copy another table were left out, and so were tables that contradict themselves (more marks giving a lower percentile).

For your score we read every table that covers it and show the lowest and the highest percentile they give. More marks never show a lower percentile. If very few tables cover a score, the tool says so.

The merit number comes from real data. The CAP final merit lists for Maharashtra State candidates show every candidate's percentile and merit number. We counted all 2,03,766 MHT-CET rows of the 2025 list (out of 2,04,540 rows; the rest were ranked on a Diploma or D.Voc. score) and all 2,29,563 MHT-CET rows of the 2026 list (out of 2,31,914 rows; the rest were ranked on a Diploma or D.Voc. score).

The merit list includes only Maharashtra State candidates who applied for engineering admission (CAP). In 2025 that was 48% of everyone who wrote the exam (2,03,766 of 4,22,663), so your merit number is much better than your position among all candidates.

Frequently asked questions

What percentile will I get with 100 marks in MHT-CET?

The published estimates put 100 marks at about 85.2–96 percentile. 120 marks gives about 92.6–98.8, and 130 marks about 95–99.5. Your real percentile depends on how hard your session was.

How many marks do I need for 99 percentile in MHT-CET?

The estimates say about 130–170 marks, depending on the session. For 95 percentile they say about 97–130 marks, and for 90 percentile about 79–110 marks.

Why do websites give different percentiles for the same marks?

Because nobody has real marks-to-percentile data. Each website makes its own guess from past years and student reports. This page shows all of their guesses as one range, so you can see how unsure they are.

What is the MHT-CET PCM exam pattern?

The paper has 150 questions for 200 marks. Mathematics has 50 questions of 2 marks each (100 marks). Physics and Chemistry have 50 questions each of 1 mark (50 + 50 marks). There is no negative marking. The exam takes 180 minutes: Physics and Chemistry first, then Mathematics.

What does percentile mean in MHT-CET?

MHT-CET is held in many sessions. Your percentile is the share of candidates in YOUR session who scored the same as you or less. The top scorer of every session gets 100. It is not the percentage of marks you got.

Why does my MHT-CET scorecard show no marks?

The State CET Cell declares the result in percentile format only. It does not publish raw marks or a marks-to-percentile table. Students usually work out their raw marks from the official answer key.

How many students wrote MHT-CET PCM in 2026?

2026 had two attempts. 4,54,069 candidates appeared in the first attempt and 2,85,121 in the second. Many students wrote both, so these two numbers cannot be added. In 2025, 4,22,663 candidates appeared (State CET Cell).

If I write both attempts, which score counts?

The better of your two TOTAL percentiles counts for admission. Subject percentiles from the two attempts are not mixed.

Is this official CET Cell data?

Partly. Candidate numbers and merit numbers come from official CET Cell documents. The marks-to-percentile part is not official: it is the spread of estimates from several education websites, because no real table exists. Use this page to plan, not as a promise.
