1Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how YT Downloader, developed by Devhives (devhives.in), handles information when you use our Android application.
We built YT Downloader to be transparent about data. The app works fully without an account. Analytics data is collected only if you explicitly consent during the first-launch prompt. You can change your choice anytime in Settings → Privacy.
2Data We Collect
The app separates data into two categories based on your consent choice:
Always local — never leaves your device
Download history
Titles, file paths, quality, and timestamps — stored in the app's private Hive database on-device.
App preferences
Theme mode, auto-delete settings, premium status — stored locally in Hive.
Collected and synced only with your consent
Device information
Device model, brand, manufacturer, Android version, and SDK level. Used to identify device types for crash analysis.
Device fingerprint
A one-way SHA-256 hash derived from your Android ID, model, brand, manufacturer, and screen dimensions. Used as an anonymous identifier — not personally identifiable.
Approximate location
City, country, timezone, ISP, and approximate latitude/longitude obtained via your IP address through ip-api.com. Used for regional analytics only.
Usage data
Download events (video title, quality, file size), session duration, and in-app interactions (e.g., theme changed, premium upgraded). Used to improve the app.
Install ID
A randomly generated UUID created on first install. Used to distinguish unique installs. Not tied to your identity.
No personal content is ever collected. We never read, access, or transmit your downloaded video files, filenames beyond analytics metadata, or any personal files on your device.
3How We Use Your Data
Improve app stability — detect crash-prone device types and OS versions.
Understand usage patterns — know which features are used most to prioritize improvements.
Regional analytics — understand geographic reach (no targeted advertising based on location).
Monetisation — download count is used locally to determine when to show ads (no data sent for this purpose).
We do not sell your data to third parties, use it for targeted advertising, or share it with anyone other than the service providers listed below.
4Third-Party Services
The app integrates the following third-party SDKs. Each has its own privacy policy:
Google AdMob
Displays interstitial and rewarded ads. May collect advertising identifiers (AAID) per Google's policies. Ads are skipped for premium users.

Cloud messaging (FCM) for push notifications. Firebase Analytics is not actively configured.

Handles premium subscription payments (₹50/month). Razorpay processes payment information per PCI-DSS standards. We never store your card details.

Provides IP-based geolocation (city, country, approx. coordinates). Only queried if you have consented to analytics. No account or API key is used — your IP is sent to their public API.

Analytics opt-out
Open Settings → Privacy → toggle off "Usage Analytics". This immediately stops all future data transmission to our servers.
Ad-free experience
Upgrade to Premium (₹50/month) to remove all ads, or watch a rewarded ad for 1 hour of ad-free usage.
Delete local data
Go to Settings → Storage → Clear All Downloads to delete your download history.
Uninstall
Uninstalling the app removes all local data (Hive boxes, SQLite analytics DB) from your device.
6Your Rights
Regardless of your location, you have the right to:
Know what data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your analytics data
Withdraw consent for analytics at any time
